Call for Papers

ANNOUNCING A NEW INTERNATIONAL ON-LINE JOURNAL!

The JOURNAL OF PEGMATOLOGY publishes the results of original scientific research, review articles and abstracts in the general fields of pegmatology.  Specific areas of coverage include, but are not restricted to, descriptive mineralogy, geochemistry, igneous petrology, experimental mineralogy and petrology, crystal chemistry and isotope geochemistry, major and trace element geochemistry, clay minerals,  geochemistry of mineral-fluid systems, new minerals and mineral occurrences, new pegmatite localities, regional studies, petrography and petrogenesis.

The JOURNAL OF PEGMATOLOGY invites contributions on the topics described above, as well as topics of general pegmatite interest (e.g., applied mineralogy, cultural heritage and mining history).  We also invite suggestions for themes for special issues.
When submitting articles be sure to include the following information: 
  1. Title
  2. Name of authors (with first name given in full for each author)
  3. Address (Electronic-mail address of the corresponding author).

English is the preferred language of scientific communication in an international journal and authors are encouraged to submit all manuscripts in English . Manuscripts should be submitted to the chief editor as a Word document, text or pdf file.  

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING POINTS WHEN PREPARING THE WORD-PROCESSED TEXT AND SUBMITTING PHOTOGRAPHS

Use preferably Times (or Times New Roman) for the text font and Symbol for the Greek and special characters.

Keep the lay-out as simple as possible (this will make it easier to re-format).

Do not right-justify your text, flush it left only.

When prepared electronically, illustrations in the final version should be submitted in EPS format for vector graphics exported from a drawing program (1200 dpi for line drawings), and in TIFF for halftone illustrations (300 dpi). EPS files must contain a preview in TIFF of the figure and include all the fonts used in the vector graphics. `Helvetica' and `Symbol' fonts are recommended; note that Symbol should not be used in italic or bold form. 

Photographs may be submitted in either GIF or JPG format.  Image files must not be greather than 750K in size.  All photographs or images submitted to the Journal of Pegmatology must be accompanied with proper photo credits.and may be retained indefinitely for the sole use on the Pegmatite International website.


This journal follows the rules of the Commission on New Minerals and Mineral Names of the I.M.A. in all matters concerning mineral names and nomenclature.
